Warranty Information

At InStyle Furniture NSW Pty Ltd, we want you to buy with confidence. Our products are selected for quality, durability and everyday home use. This warranty statement explains how we handle warranty claims, repairs, replacements and product issues.

Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Warranty Coverage

InStyle Furniture’s warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. The warranty begins from the original date of purchase shown on your invoice or sales order.

This warranty applies to products used for normal domestic household purposes only. It does not apply to products used for commercial, rental, display, hospitality, office, accommodation or other non-domestic purposes unless agreed in writing.

Warranty Period

  • Timber furniture structure: 10 years against manufacturing defects under normal domestic use.
  • Bed slats and structural support components: 10 years against manufacturing defects under normal domestic use.
  • Upholstery, mechanisms, hardware and other components: covered according to the manufacturer’s warranty or applicable Australian Consumer Law rights.
  • Mattresses: covered according to the manufacturer’s warranty supplied with the mattress.

If a replacement part or product is provided under warranty, the original warranty period continues from the original purchase date. The warranty period does not restart.

What Is Covered

This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship where the product has been used, assembled, maintained and cared for correctly under normal domestic conditions.

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, InStyle Furniture may, at its discretion and subject to Australian Consumer Law, arrange one of the following remedies:

  • Repair of the defective part or product.
  • Replacement of the defective part.
  • Replacement of the product with the same or similar product where reasonably available.
  • Another remedy required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Minor Variations and Natural Characteristics

Many InStyle Furniture products are made from natural materials, including solid timber, reclaimed timber, leather, fabric, rattan and other natural finishes. Variations are part of the character of these materials and are not considered faults.

The following are not considered manufacturing defects:

  • Natural timber grain, knots, colour variation, texture variation or movement in timber.
  • Natural markings, scars, grain or colour variation in leather.
  • Minor colour differences between product photos, showroom samples and the delivered product.
  • Minor size, weight, finish or appearance variations of up to 5%.
  • Minor imperfections that do not affect the normal use, safety or structure of the product.
  • Normal softening, creasing, pilling, stretching or comfort changes in fabric, leather, foam or fillings over time.

What Is Not Covered

Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, this warranty does not cover:

  • Change of mind, buyer’s remorse or finding the product cheaper elsewhere.
  • Normal wear and tear from everyday use.
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, abuse, accident or improper care.
  • Damage caused by incorrect assembly, modification, alteration or tampering.
  • Damage caused by incorrect cleaning products, chemicals, solvents, dyes, ink, paint or corrosive materials.
  • Damage caused by spills, bodily fluids, pets, insects or pests.
  • Damage caused by exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, humidity, extreme cold or unsuitable environments.
  • Damage caused during transport arranged by the customer or a third-party carrier not arranged by InStyle Furniture.
  • Products used for commercial or non-domestic purposes.
  • Products sold as clearance, ex-display, factory seconds or “as is” where the relevant issue was disclosed before purchase.
  • Products that have not been maintained in accordance with product care instructions.
  • Body impressions, comfort preference or settling in sofas, chairs and mattresses where this is consistent with normal use.

Customer Responsibility Before Purchase

Customers are responsible for checking all product dimensions, delivery access and suitability before placing an order. This includes checking room size, doorway width, stair access, lift access, hallway clearance and delivery conditions.

If an item cannot be delivered due to access issues, incorrect measurements or site restrictions, additional delivery, redelivery, storage or return fees may apply. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Out-of-Zone and Regional Deliveries

InStyle Furniture’s standard delivery zones may include selected metro and nearby regional areas only. Orders outside our standard delivery zones may be accepted at our discretion or arranged through a third-party carrier.

For deliveries outside our standard delivery zones, the customer accepts that return transport, inspection transport and freight risk may be more limited and more costly. Unless required by the Australian Consumer Law, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying return freight, including all risk of loss or damage during return transit.

Minor variations, natural material characteristics, minor imperfections or issues that do not amount to a manufacturing defect or major failure will not qualify for free return freight, refund or replacement.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe your product has a fault, please stop using the product immediately and contact InStyle Furniture as soon as possible.

To submit a warranty claim, please provide:

  • Your full name and contact details.
  • Your original invoice, order number or proof of purchase.
  • A clear description of the issue.
  • Clear photos or videos showing the issue.
  • Photos of the full product and the affected area.
  • Photos of any product label, batch label or identification label where available.

Transit damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Other claims should be submitted within 7 calendar days of the issue becoming visible or known. Delayed reporting may affect our ability to assess the claim, especially where continued use may cause further damage.

Assessment Process

Once your claim is received, our team will review the information provided. We may request additional photos, videos or details to properly assess the claim.

In some cases, we may need to inspect the product in person or arrange for the product to be returned for assessment. If the product is found not to have a manufacturing defect, assessment, labour, call-out, return freight or redelivery fees may apply.

If the product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect, we will provide a remedy in accordance with this warranty and the Australian Consumer Law.

Repair Timeframes

We will always aim to resolve warranty claims within a reasonable timeframe. Repair or replacement timeframes may vary depending on product type, part availability, supplier availability, freight delays and the nature of the issue.
