Return & Refund Policy
At InStyle Furniture NSW Pty Ltd, we want every customer to choose carefully and feel confident before purchasing. Furniture is bulky, heavy and costly to transport, so our return policy is designed to be clear, fair and practical.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product has a major failure, you may be entitled to reject the goods and receive a refund or replacement, or keep the goods and receive compensation for the reduction in value.
If a product has a minor failure, we may provide a repair, replacement or other suitable remedy within a reasonable time.

Change of Mind Returns
Please choose carefully. We do not provide refunds or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind, made a wrong selection, no longer want the item, found the item cheaper elsewhere, or ordered an item that does not suit your space.
InStyle Furniture may, at its discretion, approve a change-of-mind return. Approval is not guaranteed.
Where a change-of-mind return is approved, the following conditions apply:
- The request must be made within 7 days of delivery or collection.
- The item must be unused, unassembled, undamaged and in original saleable condition.
- The item must be returned in its original packaging.
- Proof of purchase must be provided.
- A 25% restocking fee applies.
- Original delivery fees are non-refundable.
- The customer is responsible for all return freight costs.
- The customer is responsible for the item until it is received and inspected by InStyle Furniture.
If the returned item is damaged, used, assembled, missing parts, missing packaging or not in saleable condition, the return may be refused or additional deductions may apply.
Order Cancellations
Once an order has been placed, cancellation is subject to approval by InStyle Furniture.
If a cancellation is approved, a 25% restocking fee may apply. Delivery, handling, payment processing, supplier, storage or administration costs already incurred may also be deducted where applicable.
Orders that are custom-made, special order, made-to-order, clearance, ex-display, factory seconds or already dispatched may not be eligible for cancellation unless required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Custom, Special Order and Pre-Order Items
Custom-made, special order and pre-order items are ordered or made specifically for the customer. These items cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged for change of mind once the order has been confirmed, unless required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Clearance, Ex-Display and Factory Seconds
Clearance, ex-display, factory seconds and “as is” items may have marks, imperfections, discontinued finishes or other disclosed conditions. These items cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind.
Where a known fault, mark or condition was disclosed before purchase, it will not be treated as a new defect after purchase. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for issues not disclosed or for major failures.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you believe your item is faulty, damaged in transit or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible.
For transit damage, you must notify us within 24 hours of receiving the goods. Please keep all packaging and provide photos of:
- The damaged item.
- The packaging.
- The delivery label.
- The full product.
- Close-up photos of the affected area.
If an item is confirmed to be faulty, damaged in transit or incorrect, we will provide a remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. This may include repair, replacement, refund or another suitable solution depending on the nature of the issue.
Minor Variations Are Not Faults
Many of our products are made from natural materials and may vary slightly from photos, showroom samples or listed specifications.
The following are not considered faults and are not eligible for refund or exchange unless they amount to a failure under the Australian Consumer Law:
- Natural timber grain, knots, colour variation or texture variation.
- Natural leather markings, grain or colour differences.
- Minor colour differences caused by screen settings, lighting or photography.
- Minor size, weight, finish or appearance variations of up to 5%.
- Minor imperfections that do not affect normal use, safety or structure.
- Normal softening, creasing, pilling, settling or comfort changes from regular use.
Size, Access and Suitability
Customers are responsible for checking product dimensions, room measurements and delivery access before purchasing. This includes doorways, staircases, lifts, hallways, tight turns and room placement.
Returns, refunds or exchanges will not be provided because an item does not fit through an entry point, does not fit in the intended room, does not suit the customer’s space, or is not compatible with the customer’s home environment.
If delivery cannot be completed due to access restrictions, incorrect measurements or site issues, additional delivery, redelivery, storage, handling or return fees may apply.
Out-of-Zone and Regional Returns
InStyle Furniture’s standard delivery zones may include selected metro and nearby regional areas only. Orders outside our standard delivery zones may be accepted at our discretion or delivered through a third-party carrier.
For approved returns outside our standard delivery zones, the customer is responsible for arranging and paying all return freight unless otherwise required under the Australian Consumer Law.
The customer accepts all risk for goods returned from outside standard delivery zones until the goods are received and inspected by InStyle Furniture.
Free return freight will not be provided for change of mind, minor variations, natural material characteristics, access issues, comfort preference, colour preference, size preference or minor imperfections that do not amount to a manufacturing defect or major failure.
Return Freight and Risk
For approved returns, the customer is responsible for ensuring the item is safely packed and transported back to us.
We recommend using a professional furniture removalist or insured freight service for bulky furniture items. If the item is damaged during return transport, the return may be refused or the refund amount may be reduced.
InStyle Furniture is not responsible for loss or damage during return freight arranged by the customer.
Refunds
Refunds will only be processed once the returned item has been received and inspected.
Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method where possible. Processing times may vary depending on your bank, card provider or payment provider.
Delivery fees, return freight fees, assembly fees, handling fees and other service fees are non-refundable unless required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Exchanges (Subject to Approval)
Approved exchanges are subject to product availability and inspection of the returned item.
For change-of-mind exchanges, the customer is responsible for all return freight, resend freight and any price difference between products.
Non-Returnable Items
Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the following items cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind:
- Custom-made items.
- Special order items.
- Pre-order items once confirmed.
- Clearance items.
- Ex-display items.
- Factory seconds.
- Mattresses, bedding or upholstered items that have been used.
- Items without original packaging.
- Items that have been assembled, used, damaged or modified.
How to Request a Return
To request a return, please contact InStyle Furniture with your order number, proof of purchase, reason for return and photos of the item and packaging.
Please do not return any item without approval. Unapproved returns may be refused.
